Published January 25, 2008 04:20 pm - Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Sampson, 601 Koehler Drive, Sharpsville, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a formal dinner in Top of the Hub Restaurant in the Prudential Tower, Boston, and an inland river and fall foliage cruise on the Piscataqua River, Portsmouth, N.H., hosted by their children.

Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Sampson, 601 Koehler Drive, Sharpsville, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a formal dinner in Top of the Hub Restaurant in the Prudential Tower, Boston, and an inland river and fall foliage cruise on the Piscataqua River, Portsmouth, N.H., hosted by their children.

The former Elizabeth Taylor McCandless and Sampson were married Oct. 19, 1957, in United Presbyterian Church, Sharon, by the late Dr. William H. Lawrence.

Mr. Sampson, a native of Iowa, served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated in 1961 from Youngstown State University. A 10-year employee of The Herald, he left in 1965 to begin a 30-year career in sales and marketing with area industries.

Mrs. Sampson, a Sharon High School alumna, graduated in 1955 from Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing. Upon graduation she was employed by the hospital as a surgical nurse and later at Clepper Convalescent Home, Sharon.

Their children are Elizabeth, Epping, N.H.; Chris Eric, Manchester, N.H.; and Kirsten Sampson-Snyder, Bethesda, Md.

Two grandchildren complete the family.
