Westlakes wed 50 years


Mr. and Mrs. Charles “Chuck” Westlake, Sandy Lake, celebrated their golden anniversary Saturday. A dinner with family will be held at a later date.

Chuck and the former Patricia “Pat” Sopher were married Aug. 30, 1958, in Amity Presbyterian Church by Rev. James Carroll.

Mrs. Westlake is a daughter of the late Helen and Murriel Sopher. Westlake is a son of the late Floyd and Dessie Westlake.

He retired from Spang Power Control, Sandy Lake.

Mrs. Westlake is retired from Iron City Sash and Door/Anderson Corp.

Both take pleasure in spending time with family and friends, gardening and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Westlake is also an avid hunter.

The Westlakes are the parents of two children who also live in Sandy Lake: Donald Westlake and his wife Connie, and Deanna Westlake.

They have three grandchildren: Falon, Stephanie and Jeremy Westlake.
