Shafers to celebrate 50th

Mr. and Mrs. Roger A. Shafer will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a card shower.
The former Marian E. North and Shafer were married Nov. 24, 1956, in St. Michael’s Church, Greenville, by Monsignor John Keating.
Attendants were Ruth I. North Heffern, maid of honor; and Francis Peters, Alliance, Ohio, as best man.
A 1956 graduate of Minerva (Ohio) High School, Mr. Shafer retired as a maintenance manager of Zehman-Wolf Construction, Cleveland. He previously worked for Greenville Tube and Damascus Tube. He enjoys fishing, spending time walking with his black Labrador Retriever, “Dixie,” and visiting with his friends at Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 145, Greenville.
Mrs. Shafer graduated in 1956 from the former Penn High School, Greenville, and retired from Zehman-Wolf Construction as a private secretary. She previously worked for many years at the former Jamesway, Greenville. She enjoys ceramics, crocheting and playing with her grandchildren.
Their children and spouses are Linda M. Leventry; and Jeffrey A. and Patty Shafer, all Greenville; Fred R. and Angela Shafer, Garrettsville, Ohio; and Scott A. Shafer, Chardon, Ohio. A daughter, Kimberly A. Shafer, is deceased.
Eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter complete the family.
