Ronald T. Alcorn

USIS retiree formerly worked for Cooper Energy

---- — Funeral services will be Thursday (9-5-13) for Ronald T. Alcorn, Pine Township, who died at 6:50 p.m. Saturday (8-31-13) in Marquette Hospice House, Meadville, following a two-year illness. He was 65.

He was born April 7, 1947, in Jefferson County to Charles Leroy and Arbelle Enterline Alcorn.

He married Sandra L. Campbell on Aug. 13, 1966, She survives.

Ron worked at Cooper Energy Services for 29 years until its closing, then worked at USIS from 2004 until retiring in 2011.

He was a member of Wayside Community Church, Mercer.

Ron liked fishing, hunting and gardening.  He also enjoyed boating and farming with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, at home, he is survived by: two children, Laurie Mayne and her husband Stacy, Sandy Lake; and Lisa Staph and her husband Andy, Grove City; four grandchildren, Daniel and Matthew Mayne and Rachel and Victoria Staph; three sisters, Shirley Kelly, Harrisville; Donna Early and her husband Steve, Florida; and Linda Kay Bryan and her husband Robert, Arkansas; and a brother, Charles “JR” Alcorn and his wife Sandy, Polk.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Jeffrey Alcorn; three sisters; and three brothers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Marquette Hospice House, 13465 N. Wayland Road, Meadville, PA 16385.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday (9-4-13) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Service: Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (9-5-13) in Wayside Community Church, 1911 Mercer-Grove City Road, Mercer, with the Rev. Lester Rowan, officiating.

Burial: East Unity Cemetery, Venango Township, Butler County.
