SHARON — Sharon police are investigating a homicide at 322 E. State St.

Patrol cars lined the street in front of the three-story house, causing pedestrians, bicycle riders and even those in cars to ask what was happening inside.

Police were called to the house at around 2 p.m. Saturday after someone discovered the victim, a 42-year-old woman, inside her apartment and called 911.

Police Chief Mike Menster said the woman suffered multiple stab wounds to her neck and torso.

A forensic unit from Pennsylvania State Police in Butler had been called to assist in the investigation, Menster said.

As of mid-afternoon he said it was too early to comment on a motive. There are no suspects in custody.
