MERCER — A former Mercer bowling alley owner Friday was sentenced to 27 to 84 months in prison for molesting children.

James M. Kopan, 48, of 380 Andrew St., Sharon, was taken to prison from Mercer County Judge Thomas R. Dobson’s court room.

Kopan pleaded guilty by no contest to disseminating obscene and other sexual materials to minors and corruption of minors.

In court Friday, the mother of two of Kopan’s victims and the grandfather of another testified before the judge imposed the sentence.

Kopan said he felt some things had been exaggerated related to the case.
