Preston acquires New Castle-area dealership

LAWRENCE COUNTY — A Chevrolet dealership is returning to the New Castle area.

Bobby Preston, president of Preston Auto Group, announced Friday that he and his brother, Kevin, have acquired the Chevrolet dealership and will build a new facility at Wilmington and Mitchell roads, north of the city.

Preston expects construction of the 20,000-square-foot facility to begin in April and be completed by the end of the year.

In addition to the new facility, Preston said, “One of the other nice things is it will add another 40 to 50 jobs to the area.

“A pretty awesome opportunity,” he added. “We’re pretty excited.”

“This will be the first store that we’ll be the outright owners.”

Preston said they will begin selling a full line of Chevrolet vehicles from the Buick GMC showroom in April.

The New Castle area has been without a Chevrolet dealership for a few years.

“We’re pretty excited to bring them (Chevrolets) back to New Castle,” Preston said.
