- — Grove City police report scam hitting area

GROVE CITY – Grove City Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday passed on a scam warning to area businesses from Grove City police.

A man is contacting businesses and asking them to sponsor his race car for $150 to $200, the chamber said in a news release. The man has been going by several different names but has been identified as Dennison Wheeler, who the chamber said does not have a race car but is simply taking money from businesses.

Anyone who has been approached by someone seeking sponsorship ads for a race car or who has already paid for an ad is asked to contact Grove City policeman Chris Taggart at 724-458-7925.
