Planning commission OKs rezoning 2 lots

HERMITAGE — Hermitage Planning Commission on Monday recommended only partial approval of Frederick A. George’s request to rezone three lots in LindenPointe business park.

George has asked that two adjoining lots in the northeast section of the park, north of Butler County Community College, and one lot to the north of the Hermitage Workforce Training and Development Center be rezoned from planned technical park-2 zone to the less restrictive planned technical park.

George wants to build professional offices on the lots, which are not allowed in PTP-2.

Commission member Matt Liburdi said he doesn’t have a problem rezoning the two adjoining lots as they are “somewhat orphan.”

However, the remaining lot is “adjacent to already existing structures in that zone,” Liburdi said.

The city owns most of the land in the PTP-2 zone.

The board recommended approving the rezoning of the two adjacent lots, but not the stand-alone lot.

City commissioners will hold a public hearing July 23.
