Mr. and Mrs. William S. Boyer, 154 Filer Road, Mercer, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today with all their children and family at home. They are also planning a trip in the fall to Greensboro, N.C., and Gatlinburg, Tenn.
The former Juanita Louise Shilling and William S. Boyer were married July 5, 1960, in Cumberland, Md., by the Rev. C.H. Wakeman.
Boyer retired from National Fuel Gas Co. after 40 years of service. He enjoys walking, hiking, traveling, playing cards and spending time with his wife and children.
Mrs. Boyer was employed for 18 years by the former Valley View Department Store in Brookfield until it closed. She loves gardening, cooking, traveling, playing cards and spending time with her husband and children.
They have six children: Kim Swope and her husband, David, Brookfield; Theresa Gault and her husband, Steve, Espyville; William Boyer and his wife, Debbie, Grove City; Pamela Harrison and her husband, James, Queen Creek, Ariz.; Lisa Kurtz and her husband, William, Niles, Ohio; and Kevin Boyer, New Castle.
Fifteen granddaughters, five grandsons and four great-grandchildren complete the family.
