Meetings

• AARP Shenango Valley Chapter 3616 meets at 1 p.m. April 2 at Shenango Valley Senior Center, 220 N. Buhl Farm Drive, Hermitage.
Blood pressure screenings will be available to members at 12:30 p.m. by McGonigle Ambulance personnel.
Katherine L. Bires of the Alzheimer’s Association of Erie will speak on “Brain Health.”
• The Slovenian Ladies Auxiliary meets at 2 p.m. April 2 at the Slovenian Home, French Street and Baldwin Avenue, Sharon.
Mildred Lemos and Esther Novak are hostesses.
• Sawhill Retirees will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the American Legion, East State Street, Sharon.
• Farrell High School class of 1949 gathers for breakfast at 9:30 Wednesday at Denny’s restaurant, East State Street at North Buhl Farm Drive, Hermitage.
Fundraisers

• The Altar Rosary Society of Our Lady of Fatima Church will have a card/bingo party at 2 p.m. April 6 at Fatima Hall, 1225 Union St., Farrell. Doors open at 1 p.m. Lunch will be served at 2 p.m. Prizes will be awarded beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Tickets available at the door for $5.
• A reverse raffle to benefit Strayhaven Animal Shelter, Hempfield Township, will be May 3 in Greenville Elks Club.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., boards open at 6, buffet dinner is at 7 and the raffle begins at 8. Tickets are $40 a couple and include dinner, beer and soft drinks, snacks and a number on the main board, which offers a prize of $1,200. A limited number of tickets will be sold.

• Friends of the Mercer Area Libary is having a spring library lunch from 11 a. m. to 1 p.m. April 9.
Menu consists of a turkey and cheese sandwich, pasta salad and Texas sheet cake for $5. Takeouts avaible.
All community members and businesses are invited. Reservations: 724-662-4233 by April 4.
• A spaghetti dinner benefit for Brittany Hoffman is set for 4 to 7 p.m. April 5 at Brookfield Township firehall, state Route 7, Brookfield.
Brittany is a 2005 Brookfield High School graduate who was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart disease. Brittany is in need of two open heart surgeries.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 10 and younger. Takeouts available.
There will be a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction.
