A.R.T.S. & Soul Connection Summer Program for children ages 5 to 10 will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 16 through July 23 at Minority Health Center, 211 Federal St., Farrell.
Registrations will be taken from May 29 to June 11.
Program fee is $20 Discounts are given to families with multiple children. Info: 724-981-3856.
The program is fund by Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Sharon/Farrell Weed & Seed.
Dance
The Mercer High School Alumni Dinner Dance is planned for June 21 at Hempfield Township Volunteer Fire Department’s Station One Banquet Center, Sixth Avenue. Social hour begins at 6 p.m.; dinner is at 7; dancing follows.
Tickets are available at the State Farm Insurance office in Mercer or by calling Harold Ifft, 724-748-3985.
Special events
Women’s Leadership Initiative holds a free quarterly networking event “Coffee & Connections” 8 to 9:30 a.m. today at the Prince of Peace, 502 Darr Ave., Farrell. There will be a breakfast and tour.
The UPMC Horizon Greenville Auxiliary will unveil its “Garden of Life” memorial garden at 1 p.m. Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The garden is located in the front of the hospital, facing North Main Street, Greenville.
The auxiliary created the garden to provide a place for people to pay lasting tribute to family and friends while offering a setting for visitors and staff to relax. Designed by Custom Lawn Design, the garden features a brick patio, a fountain, a gazebo, benches, and picnic tables.
