Annual games highlight June activities for senior citizens

• June 17 — 11 a.m., fresh herbs sale.

• June 18 — 11 a.m., birthday party with Dr. Linda Spanos speaking; 11:15 a.m., music by Andy Zidansek; and 1 to 3 p.m., ice cream social to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk.

• June 24 — 11 a.m., “Home Security and Medical Alert” with Mike Wroblewski.

• June 25 — 11 a.m., “Understanding Medicare and Medicaid” with Ellen Perry of White-Cliff Nursing Home, Hempfield Township.

Computer classes with Chuck Roberts are held Tuesdays and Thursdays, eight classes for $30, with beginners, 9:30 to 11 a.m., and intermediate, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sign up by calling 724-981-7950.

Daily activities

• Monday — 9 a.m., tai chi qigong with Nick Gracenin, master; 9 a.m., euchre class the last Monday monthly; 9:30 a.m., music with Jane Bartholomew; bridge; and manicures in the seminar room; 11 a.m., Senior Singers with Ms. Bartholomew; noon, aquatic exercise with Phyllis Mammarelli of the YMCA at the Children’s Center of Mercer County, North Hermitage Road; 1 p.m., mah jongg; 1:30 p.m., beginner tap with Beth Van Luven; 2 p.m., tap class; and “Writing the Stories of Your Life” with Evelyn Minshull; and 3 p.m., jazz class with Ms. Van Luven.

• Tuesday — 9 a.m., Energy Choreography with Kathy Gracenin; blood sugar testing the first Tuesday monthly; and blood pressures by a retired nurses group; 9:30 a.m., donut day bingo; 11:30 a.m. center council the first Tuesday monthly; and noon, yoga with Joni Laeng of Primary Health Network.

• Wednesday — 9 a.m., strength and balance exercise with Linda Leetch; 9 a.m. to noon, haircuts for regular center participants the second Wednesday monthly; 9:30 a.m., quilting; and bingo; 10 a.m., tai chi qigong; 1 p.m., Happy Needle group; bereavement support group the second Wednesday monthly with Family Hospice and Palliative Care; AARP meeting the first Wednesday monthly; and diabetic support group the third Wednesday monthly.

• Thursday — 9 a.m., Energy Choreography; noon, yoga; 1 p.m., line dancing with Clara McFarland; and mah jongg.

• Friday — 9 a.m., strength and balance exercise; 9:30 a.m. shuffleboard; and oil painting class; and 10:45 a.m., discussion group.
