Meetings
• The Northeastern Democrat Committee meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Stoneboro Volunteer Firehall, second floor meeting room, 38 Linden St., Stoneboro.
All interested parties may attend.
• Mercer County District Attorney Robert Kochems will speak about “Identity Theft” at the last meeting of the year for the GFWC Grove City Woman’s Club at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at East Main Presbyterian Church.
The Grove City High School scholarship recipient will also be announced.
The southwest district and the northwest districts are having a joint day-long meeting from 10:30 to 3:30 p.m. June 27 at Morraine State Park.
The Woman’s Club is a service organization that has many areas of interest and is an international organization. Membership information, call Betty 814-786-7543 or Bonnie, 724-458-7828.
Fundraiser
• An ingathering of new infant boy and girl items will be the focus of a baby shower sponsored by the Women’s Group of Vincent United Methodist Church, Walnut Street, Jackson Center, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Anyone interested is invited to come and asked to please bring two wrapped infant’s gifts (one for a boy and one for a girl). At the shower, the gifts will be opened for all to see.
Later the gifts will be taken to the Family Pregnancy Center, Sharon. Unwed pregnant teens from our area are among those able to receive help by the center.
Counseling is given to the girls there.
Hostesses for the baby shower will be Loretta McCurdy, Deb McCurdy and Bernie Reddick.
• United Methodist Women will hold a yard sale, light breakfast, lunch and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Vincent United Methodist Church, Walnut Street, Jackson Center.
Pie will be on the menu.
