Farmers market vouchers available for eligible seniors

Mercer County Area Agency on Aging Inc. is offering the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program to eligible residents. The state program encourages older adults to eat more locally grown, fresh fruits and vegetables.
A $20 voucher is available to adults who are Mercer County residents, age 60 or older, and have a gross income at or below $20,036 for a single person or $26,955 for a couple. Proof of age and residency is required, including a driver’s license or photo ID.
A representative may pick up the vouchers for an eligible senior if they have proof of age and residency and a signed and completed proxy form, available at any of the agency’s senior community centers or the MCAAA office. The form is also printed in the current issue of Senior Shopper.
Eligible older adults may receive the vouchers only once each year to be picked up while supplies last at these times and locations this month:
Greenville area
• St. John’s Lutheran Church (social hall), state Route 58, Delaware Township, 1 to 3 p.m. July 7 and 14.
• White-Cliff Nursing Home, 110 Fredonia Road, picnic pavilion, Hempfield Township, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., July 9.
• Reynolds V.F.W., 115 Edgewood Drive, 1 to 4 p.m. July 10.
• Greenville Senior Service Center (Keifer Building), 339 E. Jamestown Road, West Salem Township, 1 to 3 p.m. July 21 and 28.
Grove City area
• Grove City Senior Community Center, 301 S. Broad St., 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Pine Grove Community Center, Grove City, 9 a.m. to noon, July 15 and 29.
Mercer
• MCAAA office, 133 N. Pitt St., Mercer, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
