McKeever Centerslates programs
SANDY LAKE — McKeever Environmental Learning Center, 55 McKeever Lane, near Sandy Lake, is hosting these events:
• “Fascinating Fireflies” — 7:45 to 10 p.m. Saturday in front of the Auditorium. Participants should wear weather-appropriate clothing.
• “Night Hike” — 9 to 10:30p .m. July 25 in front of the dining hall. Flashlights will not be permitted. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and bug spray.

Slovak Home fighting Multiple Sclerosis
FARRELL — First Slovak Workingmen’s Educational Club of Slovak Home in Farrell is taking part through July 31 in the “Ugliest Bartender Contest” to raise funds to fight Multiple Sclerosis. Grab bags for food and drink at the club and guess-the-amount of loose candy in a sealed jar are among the planned events. A luau is set for noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. Roasted pig and chicken on the spit will be on the menu.
An indoor tricycle race, for members only, will be 8 p.m. July 26, with sign-ups at 7 p.m. Sign-ups for new members are always being taken.
County Historical Society set for Victorian Days
MERCER — Mercer County Historical Society is holding events Saturday and Sunday as part of Victorian Days in Mercer. The society will be open regular hours, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday with special exhibits. Guided tours of the museum will be 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Sunday. A used book sale will be during business hours both days.
Greg Acker will display his antique photographs both days in Helen Black Miller Chapel. Western Pennsylvania Civil War Re-enactors Society will be encamped in the backyard.
There will be an Underground Railroad Walking Tour at 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Free lemonade will be available on the lawn. Info: 724-662-3490.
