Goddard State Park announces pair of programs

SANDY LAKE — Maurice K. Goddard State Park in Sandy Lake is hosting these events, starting in the Marina’s Environmental Learning Center Classroom:

• Night hike — 9 to 10:30 p.m. Aug. 16 Participants should wear good hiking boots and bring a flashlight.

• Family fishing program — 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 21. Registration is needed by Sept. 12.

Senior safe driving refresher course planned

MERCER COUNTY — Motorists who have attended an AARP senior safe driving program in the past and wish to attend again need only to complete a four-hour refresher course in one day.

Participants attending the refresher course must present a certificate from the previous class. A class is set for 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 8.
