Fundraisers

• The third annual American Red Cross “Ride for the Red,” a raffle and poker bike run, is set for Sept. 21. Registration is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with dinner at 5 p.m.

The ride begins at Quaker Steak & Lube, Sharon. There will be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and music. Cost is $15 for riders; passenger $10; and non riders $10. Registration includes dinner. The first 100 registered receive a free “Ride for the Red” T-shirt. Proceeds support local Red Cross Emergency Services Programs.

• An ice cream sundae fundraiser to benefit Strayhaven Animal Shelter in Hempfield Township will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 in Greenville’s Central Park.

Tickets will be sold at the event.

• St. John’s Ed. Center, corner Cedar and Morrison, Sharon, will hold a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

There will be more than 40 tables, and Saturday will be $2 per bag.

• Transfer First Baptist Church will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Pymatuning Township Building, Edgewood Drive Extension (behind Sheetz). The cost is $1.

• Kennedy Catholic Girl’s Soccer Team will hold a fundraiser at Pizza Hut, Hermitage. from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 8

Cost is $6.99 for adults and $3.99 for children ages 4 to 10. A portion of the purchase price of the buffet and all buffet tips go to the team.

• Women of West Middlesex United Methodist Church are sponsoring a good, used clothing sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 12 and 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 13 (bag day).

• Fowler United Methodist Church will hold a chicken pie dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Sept. 13.

Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children 6 to 12 and preschoolers are free. Dinner includes: chicken pie, potato, green beans, applesauce, cole slaw, break drink and dessert.
