• Saturday Story Time — 11 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday and Sept. 20 for children of all ages.

• “Stress Management by the Book” — 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Participants should bring a yoga mat, bed pillow and small blanket if available.

• “Knowing Your Community: Resources Available for Seniors” — 5:30 p.m. Sept. 18. A question and answer period will follow.

• “Pennwriters Workshop: Writing the Short Story” — 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 20. Info: Catherine McLean, 814-425-7163.

• “Mindful Eating: When & How You Eat is as Important as What You Eat” — 5:30 p.m. Sept. 23.

• “Yoga by the Book” — 5:30 p.m. Sept. 25. Participants should bring a yoga mat or small blanket and wear comfortable clothing.

• “Read to a Therapy Dog @ the Library” — 6 p.m. Sept. 25, for all ages. Dogs from Canine Connections to Love will be on hand.

• “Friday Matinee” — 1 p.m. Sept. 26 showing “On the Waterfront” starring Marlon Brando. Participants can bring a snack.

• “TGIF After School Movie” — 3 p.m. Sept. 26 showing “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” starring Johnny Depp, for all ages. Participants can bring a snack.

Chess Club is 5:30 p.m. every Thursday. Participants of all ages can come to play or learn.

Registration for fall story hour under way in Mercer

Parents are invited to register their children ages 3 to 6 for the fall story hour at Mercer Area Library, 143 N. Pitt St..

Story hour is held twice each Thursday, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., beginning Oct. 9. Not only will children hear stories, they will enjoy finger plays, games and films.
