Book discussion series planned at GC library
Families and friends are an important part of our lives. Eileen Master will lead an exploration of this theme, traveling to the South during the Depression, New York City in 1934, Ireland, and North Carolina’s Outer Banks.
Meetings will take place at the Grove City Community Library from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the following Thursdays: Sept. 11, Harper Lee’s “To Kill a Mockingbird”; Oct. 9, Pete Hamill’s “North River”; Nov. 13, Josephine Hart’s “Reconstructionist”; Dec. 11, Anne Rivers Siddons’ “Outer Banks.”
‘Nate the Great’ night planned at GC library
Children in first through third grades are invited to Grove City Community Library at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 for a fun-filled mystery night.
Enjoy a story, search for clues, make a Nate the Great hat and enjoy a mystery snack.

Used book sale will benefit Mercer Library
A used book sale will be held at Mercer Area Library, 143 N. Pitt St., from Sept. 22 to 27.
Items will be regular price Monday and Tuesday, half-off Wednesday, $1 per bag on Thursday and free on Friday and Saturday.
Patrons may donate good used books, videos, CDs and audio tapes beginning Sept. 15. No Reader’s Digest books will be accepted.

Discussion of ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’ in Mercer
Mercer Area Library will host a book discussion at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29 in the library, 143 N. Pitt St. Jen Jewell will lead a discussion on “Memoirs of a Geisha” by Arthur Golden.
