During September and October, area residents can team up with the American Red Cross, 3M and Roush Fenway Racing on Red Cross Racing, a program to engage NASCAR fans as blood donors and to raise awareness about the ongoing need for blood donations.
Register at redcrossracing.com to sign up for a new donor rewards program and accrue points to be exchanged for Red Cross Racing gear, including caps, T-shirts, jackets and limited edition die-cast cars.
Although the Red Cross Racing donor rewards program runs through Jan. 15, participants through Oct. 1 will be entered into a sweepstakes to win a trip for two to the Phoenix race on Nov. 9.
An additional drawing will take place in January for a second prize package. Winners will receive airfare, hotel, pit and garage tours and two race tickets. Designated Red Cross blood drives during September and October will feature Red Cross Racing keychains for donors.
Plus, through Oct. 31, donors at all blood drives in the 100-county blood region will automatically be entered in a weekly drawing for a $1,000 gas card.

• 2 to 7 p.m. Monday at Jerusalem Christian Church, 560 Donation Road, Otter Creek Township.
• Noon to 6 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 3325 Morefield Road, Hermitage.
The blood drives are open to the community. To make appointments, call 800-GIVELIFE.
