Fundraisers

• An Hungarian dinner will be served from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 18 at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, 710 Carnegie Ave., Sharon. Menu includes pigs in the blanket, sausage, green beans, mashed potatoes, buttered bread, cake, coffee and tea. There will be a mini bazaar to browse. The 24-month recipe calendars are now available. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than age 6. Reservations: Lilly Kobialko, 330-448-8369, or Pastor Robbie, 724-983--0194. Takeouts available at 11 a.m.

• A braised steak dinner will be 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at First Church of God, 192 Vernon Road (West Main Hill), Greenville. Dinner includes braised steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, tossed salad, bread, pie and beverage. Cost is $8. Reservations: 724-588-7875. Walk-ins welcome.

• Animal Advocacy of Mercer and Crawford counties is having a huge yard sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 285 Sherman Ave., Sharon. Clothes will be sold for $2 per bag. Please bring your own bag. No reasonable offer refused. There will be donuts and free coffee for breakfast and hot dogs and pop for lunch for a small price while supplies last. All money raised will got towards helping sick, homeless and abused animals. The group is tax exempt 501c3. Info: Gerda, 724-965-3901.

• The Historical Society of Stoneboro, 6 Railroad St., holds an indoor/outdoor flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

• Animal Appeal, a pet education and rescue organization, will have a display of dogs seeking responsible adoptive homes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Hermitage Agway, 4065 E. State St., Hermitage.

All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and more. Animal Appeal uses an application process for all adoptions. Info: 724-347-3031 or 724-962-9284.

• South Pymatuning Volunteer Fire Department holds a pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the fire department, 3505 Tamarack Drive. Cost for the all-you-can-eat breakfast is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 12 and younger. All proceeds benefit the fire department.

Class

• The Greenville Area Leisure Services Association invites area women to join the fall session of Women’s Gym/Activity class from 9:15 to 11:15 on Wednesdays beginning Sept. 23 and continue through Dec. 16 in the Rec. Center gym. There is a fee. Registration and pre-payment, call 724-588-4810 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. Deadline is Friday.

Program

• E.S.C.A.P.E. Alcohol and Drug Outreach presents Recovery Sunday at 5 p.m. Sunday at Ruth A.M.E. Zion Church, 95 W. Connelly Blvd., Sharon. The event is held in conjunction with September being National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month. Featured speaker will be Rev. Dr. William C. King Jr., Pastor of Greater Emmanuel A.M.E. Zion Church in Aliquippa, Pa. Pastor Rev. Geraldine Williams is the host. Info: 724-981-3856.
