Meeting

• Sam Bellich, deputy director of Mercer County Agency on Aging, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday during the Wilmington Township Civic League meeting at the municipal building, 35 Auction Road. He will discuss programs and services for older adults and the role of the local aging office.

A question-and-answer session will follow.

Fundraisers

• A benefit for David M. Cannone begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 22 at The Corinthian, 47 Vine Ave., Sharon. David, a 4-year cancer survivor, recently had his kidney removed due to renal cell carcinoma and continues to be treated at Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and at Cleveland Clinic for thyroid cancer.

The benefit will feature entertainment, food, a Chinese auction and 50/50 drawing. Entertainment will be provided by Savoy.

Tickets, available at the Medicine Shoppe across from Sharon High School and at the door, are $20.

Donations for the auction would be greatly appreciated and can be taken to: 1734 Memorial Drive, Farrell; Jany Fryman’s, 805 S. Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage; or call 724-981-2172 or 724-866-2172 to have items picked up.

• St. John’s Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church holds a Chinese auction Nov. 23 at St. John’s Educational Center, Cedar Avenue and Morrison Street, Sharon. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and drawings start at 3.

Admission with refreshments is $3. Ticket reservations: 724-346-4457.

• West Middlesex Historical Society sponsors a wine-tasting get-together from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at its museum at Mill and Main streets in West Middlesex. Information published Nov. 6 listed the wrong location.

The society will unveil a lamp post from the viaduct from 1941. Lighting and rededication of the lamp post will be at 6:15 p.m.

Admission is free. Wines will be available at a discount and those who attend will have the opportunity to help charities this holiday season.
