Penn State Shenango scholarship recipients


SHARON — Penn State Shenango has announced the recipients of this year’s Shenango campus and University scholarships which total more than $430,000.

• Juley Alford, the Paul and Eleanor Chadderton Scholarship for $1,000 and the National City Business Scholarship for $589. The wife of Chad C. Alford and a daughter of Randall D. Martin Sr., she is a graduate of Sharon High School and is working on a bachelor of science degree in business with an individualized option focus of management information systems and marketing.

• Lois Barlow, the Bunton-Waller Scholarship for $3,000 and the Pedas-Sava Penn State Shenango Legacy Scholarship, $1,500. She is a graduate of Samuel J. Tilden High School and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

• Megan Baker, the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000 and the Bunton-Waller Scholarship for $3,000. A daughter of Andy and Nancy Baker, she is a graduate of Greenville High School and is working on a degree to become a physical therapy assistant.

• Molly Black, the Presidential Academic Excellence Scholarship for $1,500 and the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000. A daughter of Robert and Coleen Black, she is a graduate of Keystone National High School and is pursing a degree to become a physical therapist assistant.

• Danny Brison, the Michael W. Murphy Memorial Scholarship for $1,000. He is a graduate of A-C Valley High School and is working on a degree in business.

• Brian Burnham, the Bayard D. and Ethel M. Kunkle Scholarship for $1,000; the Penn State Shenango Chancellors Award for $2,750 and the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000. The son of William and Jennifer Burnham Jr. is a Labrae High School graduate working on an astrophysics degree.

• Kristan Carroll, the Trustee Scholarship for $1,250. The daughter of Jeff and Amy Carroll is a Sharon High School graduate working on an early childhood education degree.

• Tanya M. Chambers, the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000. A daughter of Rhonda Chambers is a Sharon High School graduate working on a liberal arts degree.

• Michael A. Coccia, the Jean B. Proctor Renaissance Award for $1,250 and the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000. The son of Allen Coccia and John and Patty Chavara is a Hickory High School graduate pursuing a agricultural science degree.

• Michelle Comston, the Dallas and Kristina Hartman Trustee Scholarship for $1,250. The daughter of Elizabeth Comstock is a graduate of Rayen High School working on a human development and family studies degree.

• Dana Crocker, the William Shannon Scholarship for $1,085. The daughter of Wanda and Barry Crocker is a Sharon High School graduate working on a human development and family studies degree.

• Danielle Curtin, the Renaissance Scholarship for $1,250; Leo L. Werner Scholarship for $1,000 and the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Maria Courtney and David Curtin is a Commodore Perry High School graduate pursuing a business degree.

• Dawn Cutshaw, the Anna Stewart Shannon Scholarship for $1,000 and the Trustee Scholarship for $1,250. She is working on a degree in letters, arts and sciences and nursing.

• Gary Dangrow, the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000; the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000 and the Renaissance Scholarship for $1,250. The son of Robin Dangrow is a Sharpsville High School graduate working on an engineering degree.

• Laura S. Davis, the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000 and the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Linda Sippl is a Mercer High School graduate pursuing a pre-med degree.

• Shannon Davis, the Anna Stewart Shannon Scholarship for $550. The daughter of Gary and Debbie Davis is a Brookfield High School graduate pursuing a degree in nursing.

• Ashley A. DelFratte, the Anna Stewart Shannon Scholarship for $1,000 and the Shirley A. Snyder Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of David and Tracey DelFratte, she is a Sharon High School graduate and is pursuing a degree in nursing.

• Rena Donatelli, the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000; the Renaissance Scholarship for $1,250 and the Bayard D. and Ethel M. Kunkle Scholarship for $1,000. A daughter of Patti and Ray Donatelli, she is a graduate of Sharon High School and is working on a degree in nutritional sciences.

• Stephanie Dunworth, the Paul and Eleanor Chadderton Scholarship for $2,000. A daughter of Mark Dunworth and Robert and Judy Means, she is a West Middlesex High School graduate and is working on a degree in business administration with an individualized option focus on management information systems and marketing.

• Randolph Ebert, Sharon, the Trustee Scholarship for $1,250; the Phillip J. Marrie Jr. Family Scholarship for $1,651 and the Penn State Shenango Advisory Board Scholarship for $500. He is a graduate of Maplewood High School, Cortland, Ohio, and is pursuing a degree in letters, arts and sciences.

• Ian Elliott, the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000. A son of John and Marianne Elliott, he is a Sharpsville High School graduate and is working on a degree in education.

• Edwin Flowers, the Presidential Academic Excellence Scholarship for $1,500; the Renaissance Scholarship for $110; the Bayard D. and Ethel M. Kunkle Scholarship for $1,000 and the Sharonsteel Scholarship for a four-year, full-tuition. A son of Gary and Jonine Flowers, he is a Sharpsville High School graduate and is pursuing a degree in information sciences and technology.

• Yvonne L. Frantz, the Marilyn K. Mathieson Memorial Trustee Scholarship for $1,500 and the Ann Mae “Mo” Helm Scholarship for $572. A daughter of Sally Calvin and the companion of Charles Davison, she is a Brookfield High School graduate and is working on a degree in letters, arts and sciences with directions in business, English and human development.

• Elizabeth Gargano, the Penn State Shenango Advisory Board Scholarship for $500 and the Marilyn K. Mathieson Memorial Trustee Scholarship for $1,500. A daughter of Neil and Barb Gargano, she is a Kennedy Catholic High School graduate and is working on a degree in letters, arts and sciences.

• Quinlan Gibson, the Paul “Pete” Daffin Memorial Trustee Scholarship for $1,500 and the Penn State Shenango Advisory Board Scholarship for $500. He is a Hickory High School graduate and is pursuing a degree in secondary education.

• Jacqueline Glenn, the Anna Stewart Shannon Scholarship for $500. She is a Farrell High School graduate and is working on a nursing degree.

• Charity Gramsky, the Bunton-Waller Scholarship for $3,000; the First National Bank of PA Leadership Scholarship for $1,385 and the Penn State Shenango Advisory Board Scholarship for $750.

• Nicole Grande, the Dallas and Kristina Hartman Trustee Scholarship for $1,250. A daughter of Joseph and Lynda Grande, she is a Farrell High School graduate and is working on a human development and family studies degree.

• Christina Guthrie, the Trustee Scholarship for $1,250. A daughter of Janet and Ray Guthrie, she is a Hickory High School graduate and is pursuing a degree in business.

• Donise Hampton, the Bunton-Waller Scholarship for $2,500. A daughter of Wilhelmenia and Richard Jones, she is a Sharon High School graduate and is working on a human development and family studies degree.

• Jasyntah Hampton, the Dallas and Kristina Hartman Trustee Scholarship for $1,250 and the Bunton-Waller Scholarship for $1,500. The daughter of James and Paula Hampton is a graduate of Farrell High School and is pursuing a degree in human development and family studies.

• Tami Hedglin, the Anna Stewart Shannon Scholarship for $750. The daughter of Carol Thousand and wife of Shawn Hedglin is a Sharpsville High School graduate pursuing a nursing degree.

• Glenda L. Jennings, the Paul and Eleanor Chadderton Scholarship for $1,344 and the class of 1992 Memorial Scholarship for $1,000. The wife of Thomas Jennings II and a daughter of Charles and Rosemary Totten is a West Middlesex High School graduate working on a business administration degree with a marketing option.

• Donald Jewell, the Bunton-Waller Scholarship for $3,000. The husband of Roxan Jewell is a Brookfield High School graduate pursuing a degree as a physical therapist assistant.

• Rosanna Kennedy, the William Shannon Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Guy and Tina Barbato is a graduate of Lawrence County Vocational Technical School pursuing a degree in human development and family studies.

• Donald Koewacich, the Bunton-Waller Scholarship for $3,000 and the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000. The son of Tina and Don Koewacich is a Sharon High School graduate.

• Melissa Krepps, the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,500 and the Penn State Shenango Alumni Society Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Robert and Karen Krepps is a graduate of The Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow working on a degree in undergraduate studies.

• Jamie Kurelko, the Anna Stewart Shannon Scholarship for $1,000 and the Penn State Shenango Advisory Board Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of James and Sherry Perrine is a Sharpsville High School graduate pursuing a bachelor’s in nursing.

• Marjorie Lenhart, the Henry and Catherine Evans Scholarship for $500. The daughter of Len Lenhart is a graduate of Avonworth High School in Pittsburgh pursuing a degree in human development and family studies.

• Sara M. Liska, the Joy Cone Co. Scholarship for $500 and the Penn State Shenango Advisory Board Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Michael and Karen Liska is a Hickory High School graduate.

• Lisa Lovich, the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Ron and Marte Lovich is a Mohawk Junior-Senior High School graduate pursuing an elementary education degree.

• Tami M. Lowrey, the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Barbara and Michael Lowrey is a West Middlesex High School graduate pursuing a law degree.

• Joshua P. McFall, the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000. The son of Lonnie and Dawn McFall is a Wilmington High School graduate pursuing a business administration degree.

• Scott McKinley, the Trustee Scholarship for $1,250. The son of Tom and Roxanne McKinley is pursuing a business administration degree.

• Elizabeth Michael, the Trustee Scholarship for $1,250. The granddaughter of Alice Hardison and wife of George Michael is a graduate of Marietta High School pursuing a human development and family studies degree.

• Lisa Michael, the Trustee Scholarship for $1,250. The Sharon High School graduate is pursuing a degree in human development and family studies.

• Jamie Myers, the Trustee Scholarship for $1,250. The daughter of David and Mary Myers is a graduate of Farrell High School pursuing a degree in business administration.

• Melissa Nanz, the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000, the Trustee Scholarship for $1,500 and the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Patricia and Alan Nanz is a graduate of Reynolds High School pursuing a physical therapist assistant degree.

• Rickie Ann Nearhoof, the Anna Stewart Shannon Scholarship for $500. The wife of Houston Nearhoof is a graduate of Mercer High School pursuing a bachelor’s in nursing.

• Shirley J. Nemec, the Anna Stewart Shannon Scholarship for $500 and the Trustee Scholarship for $1,250. The daughter of Nancy and Paul Hrubik is a Grand Valley High School graduate pursuing a degree in letters, arts and sciences.

• Sam Newman, the Presidential Academic Excellence Scholarship for $1,500 and the Shirley A. Snyder Scholarship for $1,000. He is a graduate of West Middlesex High School.

• Kaylee Paden, the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Hugh and Karen Paden is a Sharpsville High School graduate pursuing a degree in animal science.

• Gina Parker, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur William Phillips Scholarship for $1,000. The wife of Mark Parker is a graduate of Hickory High School pursuing a degree in human development and family studies.

• Kayla Paxton, the Bunton-Waller Scholarship for $3,000, the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000 and the Bayard D. and Ethel M. Kunkle Scholarship for $500. The daughter of William and Clarinda Paxton is a Mercer High School graduate pursuing a nursing degree.

• Shar-Dai J. Peagler, the Bunton-Waller Scholarship for $1,336. The daughter of Ramona Peagler is a graduate of Farrell High School pursuing a degree in human development and family studies.

• Juliana Reiber, the Penn State Shenango Advisory Board Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Paula and Dan Reiber is a Wilmington High School graduate pursuing a degree in physical therapist assistant.

• Jacob Saum, the Anna Stewart Shannon Scholarship for $1,000 and the Penn State Shenango Advisory Board Scholarship for $662. The son of Kirby Saum and Tina Kepner is a graduate of Badger High School pursuing a human development and family studies degree.

• Allie Schweiss, the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000 and the Penn State Shenango Advisory Board Scholarship for $500. The daughter of Mark and Kathy Schweiss is a graduate of Sharon High School pursuing a degree in nursing.

• Amanda Sedelnik, the Penn State Shenango Alumni Society Scholarship for $1,183 and the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Donald and Diane Sedelnik is a graduate of Lawrence County Vo-Tech pursuing a degree in physical therapist assistant.

• Beckie Shaw, the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Anita Shaw is pursuing a degree in physical therapist assistant.

• Leigh A. Shirley, the Henry and Dorothy Bieber Trustee Scholarship for $1,250. The wife of Todd Shirley is a United Local High School graduate pursuing a bachelor’s in human development and family studies.

• Jaclyn Shuttleworth, the Anna Stewart Shannon Scholarship for $1,000 and the Penn State Advisory Board Scholarship for $750. The daughter of Amanda Little is a graduate of Sharpsville High School pursuing an associate’s in science.

• Courtney L. Simpson, the Mary and Prescott Willaman Scholarship for $4,700. The daughter of Tim and Karen Simpson is a Reynolds High School graduate pursuing a degree in human development and family studies.

• Christa Stinedurf, the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000 and the Blue and White Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Michael Kantner and Chris Stinedurf is a Hickory High School graduate pursuing a human development and family studies degree.

• Dawn Taylor, the Sharonsteel Foundation Scholarship for $11,344, the Bunton-Waller Scholarship for $3,000 and the Penn State Shenango English Scholarship for $583. The daughter of Robert and Maria Taylor, she is a graduate of Farrell High School pursuing a degree in letters, arts and sciences.

• Kathryn Thompson, the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000 and the Leo L. Werner Scholarship for $874. The daughter of Steve and Sue Thompson is a Hickory High School graduate.

• Emily Timko, the Penn State Advisory Board Scholarship for $1,000, the Robert E. Weber Memorial Scholarship for $1,000, the Class of 1938 Renaissance Scholarship for $1,250, the Matthew J. Wilson Honors Scholarship for $3,000 and the Hans A. Panofsky Scholarship for $1,000. The daughter of Timothy and Carol Timko is a LaBrae High School grad, and is pursuing a meteorology degree.

• Meredith Warren, the Penn State Shenango Advisory Board Scholarship for $500. The daughter of Jean and George Warren is a Sharon High School graduate pursuing a degree in business with an individualized option of marketing and computers.

• Danielle Wells, the Bunton-Waller Scholarship for $2,500. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terrance Wells is a graduate of Farrell High School pursuing a marketing/management degree.

• Ryan Williams, the William P. McDowell Scholarship for $1,000 and the Bunton-Waller Scholarship for $3,000. The son of Roger and Rebecca Williams is a Lakeview High School graduate pursuing an animal sciences degree.

• Stephanie Worona, the Anna Stewart Shannon Scholarship for $500. The daughter of Christopher Worona is a Hickory High School graduate pursuing a nursing degree.
