- — Buhl Community Recreation Center in Sharon offers these activities:

Yoga speciality certification, March 8-9.

Indoor cycling, April 26.

H.I.T.T. the Road, April 27.

Barre Blend, May 17.

Boot camp, May 18.

Hot Yoga with Shannon Shugart, 9 to 10:15 a.m. Feb. 15. Take a full-length towel and yoga mat. Cost is $5 at the door.

Fitness Center. New equipment has been added, the room has been repainted and Circle for Life Fitness and spinning bikes have been moved. The center now offers a hot yoga room.

Jumpstart January Scrapbooking Feb. 18. Learn simple techniques to create fun and fabulous pages while getting your pictures out of your phone, off your camera or out of the box.

Participants will need: a scrapbook of any size or design; pictures in one package or theme; tools such as scissors, paper punches or cutters; double-stick tape or tape runner rather than glue or glue sticks; and paper or embellishments.

Cost is $15.

One-day craft lessons for adults, 6 p.m. March 6. Learn how to make a Deco mesh wreath; they make great gifts or home decorations. List of materials require a 24-inch wire wreath and a roll of Deco mesh (your color choice). You may take other ribbons and ornaments if you like. Class fee, $5 day pass. Future classes will depend on interest of those who attend. Call to register.

March Madness cheerleading clinic will be hour-long sessions on April 5-6. Students will learn the basics with Melissa Rhoades, Jennifer Groleau and Anna Kirkand.

Classes are:

Kindergarten through fifh grade, 10 to 11 a.m.

Sixth through eighth grade, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Ninth through 12th grade, 1 to 2 p.m.

Spanish lessons, 8 p.m. Feb. 26. Students will learn basic Spanish words and sentences. Cost is $35.

Academic tutoring is designed to build and reinforce skills in reading, math, language, spelling, writing, science, social studies and study skills.

Students will have individual planning and a certified teacher. Hours and dates are based on tutors and students availability.

Cost is $15 per 60-minute tutoring session.

Jump Stretch classes for athletes 10 and older are offered after school. Free orientation classes are offered at 12:15 p.m. Saturdays.

Athletes can increase vertical jump, explosive power, and injury prevention with large continuous loop bands.

Also offered are classes for weight loss, stress reduction, increasing muscle tone and general well-being.

There are fees. Call for team rates.

Annual Buhl Club Oldies and More Dance is 8 p.m. to midnight March 8 at Yankee Lake Ballroom, Brookfield. Tickets are $25 in advance and $27 at the door. Details: 724-981-3700.

Aquatic Health and Fitness. These new pool programs have been added to the schedule:

Deep water aerobics, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

Aqua Zumba, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Watch for dates for tot swim lessions and Red Cross lessons.

Guitar lessons with Dan Styduhar for ages 8 to adults are scheduled in half-hour increments and last for 12 weeks. Students are required to take their own acoustic guitar and will be required to purchase a music book. Call to schedule an appointment.

Piano lessons with Diane Kozyro for ages 4 and older. Students will learn fingering, notes and reading music. Appointments only, call 724-981-3700, ext. 108.

Voice lessons with Diane Kozyro for ages 4 and older are scheduled in half-hour increments. Student will work on basic vocal technique, breathing and vocal warmups. Appointments, call 724-981-3700, ext. 108.
