Dinner, art sale set to benefit Linda Clark

SHARON — A benefit dinner will be held Sunday for Linda Clark, the Sharon Regional Health System emergency room greeter who was stabbed in the neck in November. She is recovering at home.

Scheduled for noon to 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 600 E. State St., Sharon, tickets cost $15 and guests will have the choice of a beef or chicken dinner. Hot meals are being prepared by Mr. D’s of Brookfield, where Linda previously worked. Side dishes, salads and desserts are being prepared by volunteers from Sharon Regional Health System and the church.

Clark, of Hubbard, also worked as an artist and plans to sell many of her paintings at the dinner, with prices ranging from $5 prints to $400 original works of art.

The subjects of the painting vary widely, Clark said, from still life portraits to local landmarks from Mercer, Trumbull and Mahoning counties, along with several paintings of Amish life.

Clark has been unable to paint since the stabbing, after a nerve controlling the use of her left arm was severed. She continues to undergo rehabilitation.

There will also be a silent auction for items donated by local businesses, organizers said.

Anyone who wants to donate or volunteer should call the church at 724- 981-2211.
