- — Fundraisers

• Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 218 Meadowbrook Road in Hermitage, will hold a free community breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Come and enjoy some good food and great fellowship.

There are no requirements to receive a breakfast.

• A roast beef dinner will be served from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Hartford Masonic Temple, state routes 7 and 305.

Menu includes roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, noodles, green beans, glazed German carrots, cole slaw, drink and dessert.

Cost is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $6 for children and free for preschoolers.

Dinner is co-sponsored by Jerusalem Lodge 19 and Hartford Order of Eastern Star 518.

• A spaghetti dinner benefit for Craig and Greg Osmon will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the cafeteria of Sharon High School.

Craig and Greg and two other classmates, along with another family, were involved in a traffic crash in Sharon in November, claiming the lives of three people. The Osmons have gone through surgeries and extensive physical therapy in their recovery.

Family, friends and loved ones are asking for contributions to make the benefit a success, as the family is encountering mounting medical and household bills.

Cost for dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for ages 10 and younger. Tickets will be available at the door, from SHS football players or by calling Cindy, 1-330-647-4839.

Donations can be made at any PNC Bank to the Craig and Greg Osmon Benefit Fund.

A Chinese auction will be part of the benefit.

• The Northwest Pa. Auctioneers Association’s annual spring auction to benefit Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Erie will be Feb. 15 at the Hickory VFW on Route 62, Hermitage. The hospital provides free care and transportation for any child in need of medical services.

• West Middlesex High School Band holds its annual all-you-can-eat soup fest from noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 1 in the high school commons.

Cost is $5 a person and includes bread, crackers and drink. Take your own soup mug or purchase a Big Red mug while supplies last.

There will also be a Chinese auction.

Classes

• EMS Lawrence County Council and the Community College of Allegheny County present the Emergency Medical Technicial program that will be held at Lawrence County Career & Technical Center, 750 Phelps Way, New Castle. The EMT class meets from 6 to 10 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays beginning this Monday and continues through June 9.

Upon completion students will be tested by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Bus trips

• Coordination Council of Mercer County sponsors a bus trip to Seneca Niagara, Niagara Falls, N.Y., on March 15. Arrive for bus at 8:15 a.m., with departure at 8:30 from Sharon City Centre. Leave casino at 6:30 p.m.

Cost is $40 and includes $20 in slots bonus and $5 food voucher.

The bus will stop for breakfast. There will be a 50/50 raffle and prizes.

Proceeds benefit the scholarship.

• Sharpsville Historical Society sponsors a gambling spree to Rivers Casino Pittsburgh on Feb. 19. Bus departs Sharon City Centre parking lot at 10 a.m. and leaves the casino at 6 p.m. to return home.

Cost is $35 and includes $20 in slot play and $5 food voucher.

Meeting

• Sharpsville High School class of 1959 meets for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Perkins Restaurant, Hermitage.

Ideas will be discussed for the 55th class reunion.
