Extension sets ‘Dining with Diabetes’ series

MERCER COUNTY — Mercer County Cooperative Extension offers “Dining with Diabetes: A Program for Adults with Diabetes and their Families” to teach people to better manage their disease through smart food choices.

Dietitian Katherine French and culinary instructor and dietitian Christine Martello present the four weekly classes plus one follow-up class three months later.

There is no cost for those on Medicare or Medicaid. For others, the cost is $40 for an individual and $15 for an additional family member.  The fee includes all educational materials, lab tests and food tasting.

The series will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. March 4, 11, 18 and 25 in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. An informational meeting is set for 1 to 2 p.m. Feb. 25 in the hospital.
