Touring choir embarks on 11-stop tour

GROVE CITY — The Grove City College Touring Choir is set to embark on its spring tour from Feb. 28 to March 9. The choir is directed by Dr. Douglas Browne, professor of music, and composed of 47 singers.

The touring choir will perform at churches at 11 locations throughout Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. The students will be hosted overnight by church families.

The choir’s mission seeks to praise and glorify God and to minister to others through music, striving together to achieve choral excellence.

“Throughout my four years at Grove City College, Touring Choir has been one of the most influential groups to me, both musically and spiritually,” said choir President Kolby Martin, class of 2014.

Jon Warren, class of 2015 and choir vice president, said, “The choir has worked hard to learn its repertoire and is eager to share it with many people. Furthermore, the choir looks forward to building relationships with the audience members and with one another throughout the course of the tour.”

In addition to the annual spring tour, the choir performs for churches and schools in western Pennsylvania and at various campus events.
