- — Westminster orchestra presents winter concert

NEW WILMINGTON – The Westminster College Symphony Orchestra will present its winter concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Orr Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

The program will include Saint-Saëns’ “Bacchanale” from Samson and Delilah, “Adagio and Fugue” in C minor by Mozart, “Rhosymedre” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, and “Four Norwegian Dances” by Edvard Greig.

The orchestra is under the direction of Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu, assistant professor of music.

Area students performing with the orchestra are:

Hermitage – Timothy Skero, a senior music education major, is a son of Timothy and Rosemary Skero and a graduate of Hickory High School. He plays the cello.

Mercer – A.J. Craig, a senior chemistry major, is a son of Lance and Karen Craig and a graduate of Mercer Area High School.  He plays the bass trombone.

Kyle Grabigel, a senior music education major, is a son of Gerald and Virginia Grabigel and a graduate of Mercer Area High School. He plays the tuba.

Devin Greig, a senior music performance major, is a son of Richard and Tina Greig and a graduate of Mercer Area High School. He played percussion.

Pulaski – Jessica Kimbell, a senior music education major, is a daughter of John and Barbara Kimbell and a graduate of Mars Area High School. She plays the violin.

Sandy Lake – Gregory McClelland, a senior music education major, is a son of Fred and Heidi McClelland and a graduate of Lakeview High School. He plays the cello.

Sharon – Bailey Busco, a freshman criminal justice studies major, is a daughter of Michael and Patrica Busco and a graduate of Sharon High School. She plays the cello.
