Students ‘roar’ after raising over $7,000

SHARON — “Dancing in the Streets,” or the stadium, is what Case Avenue Elementary kids did Friday after the school presented a check for over $7,000 they raised for the American Heart Association.

The event partnered Sharon school district with the AHA in an effort to educate kids on healthy living and get them excited about exercise.

Traci Valentino designed the event to be a celebration of exercise through dance, which has proven to excite the kids time and again during her past 16 years as principal of the school.

The kids filled a large portion of the football field as they performed their signature dance to the song, “Roar.”

“They’re awesome,” Valentino said of her students. “I miss them in the summer.”
