GROVE CITY AREA —
Kendra Trezona is a young girl with a heart for supporting the August food drive at Grove City Community Food Pantry.
Throughout the month of August, the pantry has been asking for fruits and vegetables of any kind, and that is what Kendra is providing with her own food drive. She calls it a Crop Swap, and it’s occurred every Sunday in East Main Presbyterian Church.
The parishioners of East Main are invited to bring their garden produce to Kendra’s Crop Swap table and trade it for any produce they may not have planted. Each Monday, Kendra delivers the extra produce to the food pantry.
Don’t have a garden? Not a problem – just take whatever is available from Kendra’s table and make a donation. The donations are secured by the church, and when the Crop Swap is over Kendra will deliver the total to the food pantry.
Kendra’s project not only benefits the clients of the food pantry, but also helps her earn a Girl Scouts of America community service bar plus the prestigious National Leadership Award.
Contributions and tax-deductible donations are accepted at the 114 S. Center St. food pantry. Donations can also be sent through the mail or through the secure online donation feature at the pantry’s website, www.gccommunityfoodpantry.org
The food pantry is supported by Grove City Area United Way and by organizations and individuals throughout the community.
