WEST MIDDLESEX – Isaac Williams, a junior at West Middlesex High School, captured a first place award and a $12,000 Slippery Rock University scholarship at the PJAS science competition last Saturday. This award is given to the most outstanding 11th grade project.

Nearly 500 students representing 45 schools in the 9 surrounding counties presented their science experiments to a panel of adult scientist judges.

Isaac’s chemistry project entitled “Sports Drinks vs Juices” tested the electrolyte content in drinks rehydrating cells after a workout, also earned him $100 for the best overall chemistry project at the fair.

Isaac has earned a first place PJAS award for the past five consecutive years and will represent West Middlesex at the state meeting at Penn State University in May.

He is a son of Mike and Leah Ann Williams, West Middlesex.
