Small ships set sail at 7 p.m. Friday

SHARON — The 33rd annual Small Ships Revue sets sail Friday in downtown Sharon.

The Small Ships Revue is a build your own boat – anything floats regatta.

A preparty starts at 4 p.m. at the Quaker Steak & Lube complex, 101 Chestnut St., with the prelaunch parade beginning at 6. Once ships make their way to the Shenango River, the boats launch at 7 p.m.

More than $5,000 in prizes will be awarded for first-, second- and third- place, as well as in other categories like most unique and most patriotic. Local celebrities will do the judging; all participants will receive a commemorative T-Shirt.

Live entertainment with Graphic Pink and Pipedreams starts at 8 p.m. A fireworks display by Zambelli will light the sky at 10:15.
