- — Bob Evans tips hat to vets with free hotcakes

HERMITAGE – Bob Evans restaurants will give veterans and active military personnel free all-you-can-eat hotcakes at its restaurants on Presidents Day.

Guests must be in uniform or provide proof of service such as U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, active or retired; Current Leave and Earnings Statement; or a veterans organization membership card.

GC Rotary end polio/clean water event Feb. 23

GROVE CITY -- Individuals from around the world will be diving into pools on Feb. 23 to support Rotary International’s mission to end polio and support local Rotary charities.

The Grove City Rotary will donate all proceeds from this year’s event to Rotary International’s End Polio campaign and to support the Pure Thirst, a clean water project.  

The Grove City YMCA will be home to the event for Rotarians representing more than a dozen Rotary Clubs in northwestern Pennsylvania. The Rotary’s focus of service above self will be the driving force behind this year’s event, which has a goal of $1 million.  

The community is invited to attend this year’s event beginning at 1 p.m. Feb. 23.  

Fundraisers are asked to form teams of swimmers or teams of walkers.

SRU alumni invited to share their Rock love

SLIPPERY ROCK -- For the spring edition of The Rock University magazine, officials want alumni and friends to “tell us what you love about Slippery Rock University.” Replies will be incorporated into coverage of the yearlong celebration of SRU’s 125th anniversary.

They want to hear from alumni of all ages, educational and career backgrounds by Feb. 21.
