- — Local students compete in business olympics

Students from Farrell, Sharon, West Middlesex and Wilmington high schools were among those who competed in the 2014 Business Olympics March 14 at Erie Business Center South in New Castle.

A total of 126 high school seniors competed in nine events.

These local students were first-, second- or third-place winners:

Kassandra Thomas, Wilmington, first place, accounting.             

Marissa Pursel, West Middlesex, first, and Olivia Sniezek, Wilmington, third, business communications.

Aaron Signer, Wilmington, second, business math.

Aerial Pratt, West Middlesex, first, and Jessica Klumph, West Middlesex, third, business law.

Dylan Desilvey, West Middlesex, third, computer applications.

Kieauna Jefferson, Farrell, third, PowerPoint.

Jacob Berlin, Wilmington, first, and Charles Hale, Sharon, second, public speaking.

Amelia Hemminger, West Middlesex, second, word processing.

The top three places in each competition received a plaque and qualify to apply for the Erie Business Center South’s Business Olympics scholarship.
