Lighting up the skies

- — These public fireworks displays have been announced for this week’s Independence Day celebrations around Mercer County:


Hermitage Fireworks Extravaganza – at dusk, near Hillcrest Memorial Park off East State Street.

Greenville Area Chamber of Commercer Annual Fireworks Display – at dusk at Riverside Park, Alan Avenue.

Independence Day Concert with River City Brass Band – Brittan Lake at Westminster College, New Wilmington. Concert begins at 7:30 p.m., fireworks to follow.


Grove City Annual Fourth of July Celebration – 10 p.m. Grove City College’s Robert Thorn Field.


Pymatuning State Park – at dusk near the dam at Jamestown. Rain date is next Sunday.
