McKeever offers summer camps for ages 5 to 14
MERCER – McKeever Environmental Learning Center is offering summer camps for kids ages 5 to 14. Camps are designed to connect children with the natural world through play, adventure and fun.
The center has two nature day camps, one for ages 5 to 7 and another for ages 8 and 9. The nature day camps run Monday through Friday.
Earthkeepers and Earthkeepers Level II are 3-day/2-night camps for ages 10-11. The center’s Outdoor Adventure Camp is for ages 12-14 and is also a 3-day/2-night camp.
The Nature Day Camp for 5- to 7-year-olds is Monday through June 20; Nature Day Camp for 8- and 9-year-olds is July 14-18; Earthkeepers Camp is July 9-11; Earthkeepers Level II is June 25-27 and Outdoor Adventure Camp is Aug. 6-8.

Cool Springs slates 11th annual 5K
MERCER – Cool Springs Fitness & Aquatics will host the 11th Annual Chardonnay 5K race on June 28. Registration and chip pick-up starts at 7:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. There will also be a half mile kid’s fun run at 9:45 a.m.
The race will feature a new “Doggie Division” for those who choose to run the race with their canine companion (leashes required). Runners High will be the official timer of this 3.1-mile race. The race takes place on an out-and-back course on East Cornell Road and Airport Road.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Humane Society of Mercer County.
Participants may preregister ($20 until June 18) or may register the morning of the race for $25.
