Ruth Muntean

Former St. John’s member was excellent homemaker

---- — Services are private for Ruth Muntean, a seven-year resident of 2350 Garden Way, Hermitage, who passed away at 8:20 a.m. Saturday (8-3-13) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 88.  

Mrs. Muntean was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Peter and Rose O’Connor Waring.

She was a lifelong area resident and attended Sharon High School.  

Ruth was an exceptional homemaker and a former member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Sharon.  

Her husband, Joseph Muntean, Sr., whom she married Jan. 19, 1957, passed away Sept. 17, 1970.  

Surviving are: a daughter, Darlene R. Habarka, wife of Nicholas Habarka, Jr., New Wilmington; two granddaughters, whom she adored, Nicole Cox, wife of Eric Cox, Pulaski; and Laura Habarka, New Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.  

Besides her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by three sisters, Sarah Waring, Josephine Greive and Marion Frye; and a brother, John Waring.  

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
