Alvin G. “Bunk” Caszatt of 2008 American Way, Hermitage, passed away at 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He was 74.
Mr. Caszatt was born on May 5, 1935, in Sharon, a son of Louis and Lois Likens Caszatt.
He attended Sharon High School. Bunk went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Al had been employed for the past 35 years as the custodian at Temple Beth Israel, Sharon.
Mr. Caszatt is of the Methodist faith. He was very passionate about Sharon High School football and basketball.
Alvin enjoyed bowling, billiards, darts, playing cards, working in his garden and being outdoors. He was an excellent artist and enjoyed woodworking, oil-based paints and glass work.
Survivors include: his wife, Connie Stitt Caszatt, whom he married Feb. 9, 1957; two daughters, Cindy Caszatt; and Linda and her husband Chuck Bonaquist, whom Alvin considered more like a son, all Hermitage; three brothers, Louis Caszatt, Elverta, Calif.; William Caszatt, Sharpsville; and Joseph Caszatt, Hermitage; four grandchildren, Amy and her husband Ben Hardesty; and Aaron, Abby and Maria Bonaquist; and a great-grandchild, Paul Hardesty.
Besides his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett and Thomas Caszatt.
