Ward O. Baun, 490 S. Foster Road, Jackson Township, formerly of Coraopolis, passed away at 10:05 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, in Lakeview Senior Care Center, Smethport, after a brief illness. He was 95.
Mr. Baun was born Aug. 11, 1912, in Juneau, Pa., to Bert Owen Baun and Nora Alice Borts Baun.
He was formerly a machinist for R.B. & W. Bolt & Nut Co., Coraopolis.
Mr. Baun was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church, Jackson Center; and a former member of Coraopolis Methodist Church.
His wife, the former Effie Mae Gibson, whom he married Jan. 25, 1933, passed away Dec. 13, 2003.
Surviving are: two daughters, Virginia Barnes, Pollock Pines, Calif.; and Norita Skvarla, Fountain Valley, Calif.; two sons, Ward O. Baun II and his wife Christine, Smethport; and Gary D. Baun and his wife Kathleen, Mount Lebanon; a brother, the Rev. Glenn M. Baun, Nashville, Tenn.; and 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Mr. Baun was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Donna Bodamer; three brothers, Wade, Lloyd and Budd Baun; and three sisters, Alice Black, Bertha Sprowl and an infant, Betty Baun.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday (5-2-08) in the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Young, pastor of Vincent United Methodist Church, Jackson Center, officiating.
Interment: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Jackson Township.
