SLIPPERY ROCK — Betty Corrine Knight Martin, 3 Village Road, Scott Township, Lawrence County, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, in her residence. She was 75.

Mrs. Martin was born Nov. 19, 1933, in West Virginia to Albert Boyd Knight and Myrtle Goldie Morris Knight.

As a homemaker, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Betty was of the Protestant faith.

Her husband, Lonnie Elsworth Martin, whom she married Nov. 19, 1952, passed away Oct. 31, 1998.

Surviving are: three daughters, Marlena Kay and her husband Robert Houglan, Akron, Ohio; Crystal Martin, Reinholds, Pa.; and Angela Martin-Wilson, at home in Slippery Rock; two sons, Danny E. Martin, Tornado, W.Va.; and Mark E. Martin, Slippery Rock; three brothers, Orville “Bud” Knight and his wife Nina, Dille, W.Va.; Paul “Junior” Knight and his wife Shirley, Colora, Md.; and Gerald “Jerry” Knight, Volant; a sister, Bonnie and her husband Joseph DeCaria, Ellwood City; and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ernest Ray Martin; four brothers, Leonard, Gordon, William and James Knight; and four sisters, Hazel Detamore, Ruby Thompson, Dorthyleen Kyer and Evelyn Bennett.

Memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, Colonial Square, 1965 Shenango Valley Freeway, Suite 2, Hermitage, PA 16148.

Mrs. Lonnie Elsworth (Betty Corrine Knight), 75, of 3 Village Road, Scott Township, Lawrence County.

Calling hours: 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday (7-5-09) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

Service: Funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday (7-6-09) in the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey M. Harter, chaplain of Family Hospice and Palliative Care, Hermitage, officiating.

Interment: Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County.
