Published July 18, 2008 08:50 pm - A funeral service will be held Monday for Mary S. Cole of 3324 Saranac Drive, South Pymatuning Township. She died at 1 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 89.

A funeral service will be held Monday for Mary S. Cole of 3324 Saranac Drive, South Pymatuning Township. She died at 1 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 89.

Mrs. Cole was born July 8, 1919, in Sharon, a daughter to the late George and Sophie Serban.

She was previously employed by the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.

Mrs. Cole was a 35-year member of First Presbyterian Church in Sharon. She enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking, and especially her time with her family.

Her husband, Willis C. Cole, whom she married Sept. 10, 1951, survives.

Also surviving are: two sons, George H. Cole and his wife Kathi, Chambersburg, Pa.; and Willis E. Cole, Yorba Linda, Calif.; three sisters, Ann Gerwig and Minerva Rosian, both Hermitage; and Pearl Pecau, Memphis, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, April, Clint and Tara Cole.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, an infant, and Leo Serban; and two sisters, Sophie Orashn and Arelia “Rae” Trombitas.

Calling hours: Friends may call from 10 a.m. to time of service Monday (7-21-08) in Willson Parlor of First Presbyterian Church, 600 E. State St., Sharon. If unable to visit the family during calling hours or the service, friends may send condolences or sign an online memorial guest registry at www.sampleodonnell.com

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday in the church with the Rev. Dr. Glenn M. Hink, senior pastor, officiating.

Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
