Published July 23, 2008 02:27 pm - Blanche Mae Pearson, a resident for the past few years of The Overlook nursing home, New Wilmington, formerly of Garfield Street, West Middlesex, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday (7-22-08) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 95.

Blanche Mae Pearson, a resident for the past few years of The Overlook nursing home, New Wilmington, formerly of Garfield Street, West Middlesex, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday (7-22-08) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 95.

Mrs. Pearson was born Aug. 6, 1913, in Wheatland to Peter and Margaret Davidson Gulentz.

She operated a house and office cleaning service for 25 years, retiring in 1976.

Mrs. Pearson formerly attended West Middlesex Presbyterian Church.

She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and looked forward to dining out with her family. Blanche enjoyed watching television, particularly soap operas, and playing cards; and had a love for animals and crossword puzzles.

Her husband, Ray Leonard Pearson, whom she married March 28, 1929, died Jan. 27, 1979.

Surviving are: two sons, William L. Pearson Sr., New Castle; and Leonard Ray Pearson, Hermitage; a daughter, Wendy Thomas and her husband Christopher, West Middlesex; and 27 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great- grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Evelyn, Wilma, Doris and Edna; a brother, Clarence; and a daughter, Dora Mae.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (7-24-08) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 3126 Main St., West Middlesex.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday (7-25-08) in the funeral home with the Rev. David L. Searle, pastor of South Pymatuning (Township) Community Church, officiating.

Interment: Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex.
