NEW CASTLE – Colleen J. Shoup Patterson, formerly of Wallace Avenue, New Castle, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, in the hospital of Jameson Health System. She was 83.

Mrs. Patterson was born Dec. 16, 1924, in New Castle to Clarence L. and Daisy A. Dobson Shoup.

She was a 1942 graduate of New Castle High School.

A homemaker, Mrs. Patterson was a 50-year member of Highland Presbyterian Church and belonged to Wimodausis, the Women’s Federation, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 455 Auxiliary and the Primetimers, all New Castle.

She enjoyed collecting dolls.

Her husband, Arthur D. Patterson, died July 16, 2000.

Surviving are: a daughter, Sondra Flowers, New Castle; a son, Donald E. Patterson, Transfer; and four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Colleen was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clifford and Eugene Shoup.
