Published August 08, 2008 10:04 am - David E. Hogue Sr., 281 Ligo Road, Coolspring Township, passed away at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. He was 82.

David E. Hogue Sr., 281 Ligo Road, Coolspring Township, passed away at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. He was 82.

Mr. Hogue was born May 18, 1926, in Clarksville to Eugene and Edna Seiple Hogue.

He was employed at the former Western Auto in Mercer and later in air conditioning repair at the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant.

David was a veteran of the Merchant Marine.

He was of the Protestant faith.

His wife, the former Audrey Dolese, whom he married June 10, 1946, survives at the residence.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Debra L. Wise, Grove City; a son, David E. Hogue Jr. and his wife Brenda, Mercer; a sister, Phyllis Reichard, Transfer; a brother, Earl Hogue and his wife Fanny, Mercer; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and a brother.

Calling hours: 10 a.m. to time of service Saturday (8-9-08) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer.

Service: Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. William P. Crooks, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Mercer, officiating.
