Published August 19, 2008 10:20 am - A funeral service will be held Wednesday for Anita Louise “Bunny” Ray, Sharon. She passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, Aug. 16, 2008, in her residence. She was 61.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday for Anita Louise “Bunny” Ray, Sharon. She passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, Aug. 16, 2008, in her residence. She was 61.

Anita was born Oct. 23, 1946, in Cleveland to Perry and Josephine Lockavich Bonaquist.

She was a graduate of Sharon High School and Wilmar Beauty School in Sharon.

On May 10, 1967, she married Charles W. “Tom” Ray in Sharon. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 2006.

Mrs. Ray was employed as a hairstylist at Creative Hair in Hermitage.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Sharon. She enjoyed working in her garden, reading, doing puzzles, playing games and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by: one son, Charles E. Ray and his companion Melinda Pritchard, Masury; three daughters, Sonja L. Surano and her fiance Mark Kasiorek, Mercer; Tina M. Curtician and her husband Rick, Greenville; and Colleen R. Ray, Sharon; seven grandchildren, Adrianna Surano, who resided with her grandma in Sharon; Tom Surano, Mercer; Courtney Surano, Michigan; Michael, Stephen and Billy Adams, all of Greenville; and Alicia Miller, Sharon; two sisters, Cathy Novak and her husband Bob, Transfer; and Pereane Stewart and her husband Rich of Hubbard; one brother, Perry Bonaquist and his wife Clara, Vienna, Ohio; three sisters-in-law, Janice Justice, Leavittsburg; Patt Campion, New Waterford; and Yvonne Seginak, Marysville, Mo.; four brothers-in law, James E. Ray and his wife Shari, Hermitage; Daniel M. Ray and his wife Pam, Sharon; and Michael P. Ray and Donald J. Ray, both of Liberty; and many nieces and nephews, including Lisa Ray, Sharon.

In addition to her husband, Anita was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law Margaret “Peg” McGee.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday (8-20-08) in the funeral home with Father John S. Lynch, retired priest, officiating.

Burial: West Side Cemetery, South Pymatuning Township.
