Published August 19, 2008 10:23 am - A funeral service will be held Tuesday for Helen Louise Gearhart Boston, Spangler Road, Hermitage, and a resident for the last 15 months at Juniper Village at the Shenango Inn, Sharon. She died at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 86.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday for Helen Louise Gearhart Boston, Spangler Road, Hermitage, and a resident for the last 15 months at Juniper Village at the Shenango Inn, Sharon. She died at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 86.
Mrs. Boston was born July 17, 1922, in Shenango Township to Warren Gearhart and Ellen A. Shaffer Gearhart Hoffman.
She was a member for over 50 years of West Middlesex Presbyterian Church.
She loved to play cards and board games and enjoyed traveling. She loved her family’s homes at Geneva on the Lake and Bonita Springs, Fla.
She enjoyed going to the Middlesex Diner for breakfast. She loved animals.
She was retired as a secretary to the treasurer of Sharon Steel Corp.’s former Farrell plant and was co-owner of the Station House Gift Shop, West Middlesex.
She is survived by: a niece, Shirley and her husband Jerry Osborne; and a nephew, George Hoagland, all of West Middlesex; two sisters-in-law, Julia Boston Neeley and Betty Boston Burdette and her husband Louis; and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a foster daughter, Helen Anne “Laurie” Cowdrey, who died in August 2003; and a sister, Isabelle Sveighart.

Interment: Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex.
