Published August 20, 2008 02:07 pm - Funeral service will be today (8-19-08) for William McKee Jolley, Meadville, formerly of 360 Rexford Drive, Hermitage. He passed away Sunday (8-17-08) in Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville. He was 94.

Funeral service will be today (8-19-08) for William McKee Jolley, Meadville, formerly of 360 Rexford Drive, Hermitage. He passed away Sunday (8-17-08) in Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville. He was 94.

Mr. Jolley was born Sept. 22, 1914, in Oil City, to William C. Jolley and Mary C. Johnson Jolley.

He attended Franklin (Pa.) Public Schools and also Youngstown State University, Pennsylvania State University and the Graduate School of Savings and Loan at Indiana University in Bloomington.

Over the years he worked for several places including United Natural Gas Co. He was also a manager for the Sharon Medical Clinic and retired from First Federal Savings and Loan Association, where he was executive vice president and a member of the board of directors.

William was also very active in many civic organizations including Sharon Kiwanis where he was a past-president, secretary and treasurer; served on the board of trustees for the Oakwood Cemetery Association; Shenango Valley Water Co.; advisory board of the Salvation Army; 50-year member of Free and Accepted Mason Hermitage Lodge 810; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Sharon Lodge 103; and lifelong member of F.H. Buhl Club and president and member of the board of trustees.

He is survived by three daughters, Hope Jolley Bard and her husband, Stanley, Cincinnati; Bethany Jolley, Grove City; and Pamela Lewis Persson, Hoover, Ala.; six grandchildren, David Bard, San Pedro, Calif.; Rachel Neuschaefer, West Dundee, Ill.; Kortney Peterson, League City, Texas; Kellie Clements, Montgomery, Ala.; Katie Slatton, League City; and Kristy Janney, Auburn, Ala.; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Jolley; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Louise Dale Jolley in May 1989, and his second wife Phyllis Gray Lewis Jolley in October 2002. He is also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jeffrey Lynn Persson; a daughter, Mary Jolley; two grandchildren, Christian Lewis Persson and Miriam Linnah Bard; three brothers, Delbert Jolley, Richard Jolley and Donald Jolley; and three sisters, Evelyn Jolley, Eleanor Jolley and Mary Elizabeth Jolley.

In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, the family requests that donations be made to First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon 16146; or Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community; 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville 16335.
