Funeral service will be Thursday (8-21-08) for Mattie B. Robinson, 1089 Cedar Ave., Sharon. She passed away at 6:15 p.m. Saturday (8-16-08) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 83.

Mrs. Robinson was born Oct. 2, 1924, in Safford, Ala., to Leroy and Sallie Bates Ethridge.

She graduated from Allen Institute in Alabama and was employed in the hospital dietary department of what is now Sharon Regional Health System and Westinghouse Electric Corp.

Mrs. Robinson also was a longtime housekeeper for Dr. Michael E. Connelley.

She was a deaconess and missionary at First Baptist Church, Farrell, where she also belonged to the kitchen committee and Progressive Guild.

Mrs. Robinson was a member of the former Aurbanettes Social Club of the Shenango Valley and Sewing Club of the Shenango Valley.

Her husband, Louis B. Robinson Sr., whom she married Dec. 20, 1952, passed away Feb. 26, 1998.

Surviving are: a son, Louis B. Robinson Jr. and his wife, Connie A., of Bloomington, Ind.; three nieces, the Rev. Sallie Saunders of Farrell; Gunzetta Washington of Sharon; and Nathalie Lampkins of Farrell; two grandchildren, Damon Lamar Robinson of Indianapolis, Ind.; and Jermaimecq Brandon Robinson and his wife, Lia Faulk, Bloomington; three great-grandchildren, Dimtricq S. Robinson, Kobe A. Robinson; and Amelia S. Robinson, all of Bloomington; her caregiver and friend, Rhonda Keeley of Hermitage; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings; and a nephew, Henry Ethridge Jr.

Calling hours: 11 to 11:50 a.m. Thursday (8-21-08) in First Baptist Church, 1120 Darr Ave., Farrell.

Service: Funeral service at noon Thursday in First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Martha J. Sanders, pastor of Hour of Power Full Gospel Tabernacle, Farrell, officiating.

Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
